Answer:

A) 25 %

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us find the Volume of the cone first

h = 10 cm

diam. of base = 20 cm

Radius = 10 cm

Therefore, Vol (Cone)  = 1/3  πr^2h

==> 1/3 X 3.14 X (10)^2 X 10

==>  1036.20 cm^3  ....(1)

Let us find the volume of the Solid sphere now,

radius = 10 cm

Therefore, Vol (Sphere) = 4/3 πr^3

==> 4/3 X 3.14 X (10)^3

==> 4176.20 cm^3 ...(2)

Therefore % Wood (Volume) consumed by the Cone

==> [Vol (Cone) / Vol (Sphere)]   X 100

==> [1036.20 / 4176.20]   X 100 %

==>  24.812 %  ~  25 %

Thus % wood consumed by the cone ==> 25 %
