Solution

Since, a cone of maximum size is a curved out

from a cube

So, radius of cone, r= 14/2 = 7 cm

And height of cone, h 14 cm

Slant height of cone = 72+ 14 = v245 7 5

cm

Surface area of remaining solid 612 - mr2+ Tmrl

Surface area of remaining solid 6 x 14 x 14

22/7 x 7 x7+22/7 x 7x 7V5

Surface area of remaining solid = 1176-154+

154 V5

Surface area of remaining solid (1022+154

V5) cm2

Hence, the remaining solid left out after the

carved out is (1022+154 V5) cm.
