A conical cap just covers two spheres placed one  above the other on a table. If the radii of the sphere  are 1 m and 2.25 m then the height of cone is 6.5 m

Solution:

Given that, A conical cap just covers two spheres placed one above the other on a table.

The radii of the sphere are 1 m and 2.25 m

We have to find the height of the cone.

Now, as the spheres are one above the other.

The height of cone will be equal to sum of diameters of the two spheres.

Height of cone = diameter of big sphere + diameter of small sphere

We know that diameter = 2 x radius of sphere

Height of cone = 2 x radius of sphere + 2 x radius of small sphere

Height of cone = 2 x 2.25 + 2 x 1 = 4.5 + 2 = 6.5

Hence the height of the cone is 6.5 m
