Given data : A conical glass whose diameter is 7 cm and depth is 12 cm is filled with a soft drink till the edge.

To find : Find the quantity of soft drink to fill ten such glasses ?

Solution : Here, a/c to question;

  • Diameter of the conical glass = 7 cm
  • Radius of the conical glass = diameter/2 = 7/2 = 3.5 cm
  • Depth/Height of the glass = 12 cm

By formula of volume of the cone

➜ Volume of the conical glass = 1/3 π r² h

{Where,

  • π = 22/7 or 3.14
  • r = radius
  • h = height }

➜ Volume of the conical glass = 1/3 * 22/7 * 3.5² * 12

➜ Volume of the conical glass = 22/21 * 12.25 * 12

➜ Volume of the conical glass = 22/21 * 147

➜ Volume of the conical glass = 3233/21

➜ Volume of the conical glass = 154 cm³

Now,

➜ Volume of 10 conical glass = Volume of one conical glass * 10

➜ Volume of 10 conical glass = 154 * 10

➜ Volume of 10 conical glass = 1540 cm³

Answer : Hence, the quantity of the soft drink to fill ten glasses is 1540 cm³.

{More info : Here we know that; 1 cm³ = 0.001 liters

Hence, 1540 cm³ = 1540 * 0.001 liters = 1.54 liters

Answer : Hence, the quantity of the soft drink to fill ten glasses is 1.54 liters}
