a conical pit of top diameter 3.5 m is 12 m deep.find its capacity in kilolitres

Diameter of top = 3.5 m

Radius = 3.5 / 2 m

Height = 12 m


Capacity = 1/3 pi r^2 h

= 22*3.5*3.5 * 12 / 7 * 3 * 2* 2

= 22*3.5 * 0.5

= 11 * 3.5

= 38.5 m^3

= 38.5 kilolitres [ 1 m^3 = 1 kilolitre]
