Answer:

radius of pit = r= 3.5/2 = 1.75 m

height of pit = depth of pit = 12m

so, volume of pit = 1/3 λr²h

= 1/3 x 22/7 x 1.75² x 12

= 38.5 m³

capacity of pit = 38.5 x 1 = 38.5 kl

Step-by-step explanation:

For a conical pit

diameter =3.5m

∴ Radius (r)= 3.5/2= 1.75m

Depth (h)=12m

∴ Capacity of the conical pit

= 1/3 πr square h = 1/3 × 22/7 × (1.75)square × 12 m square

= 38.5 m square = 38.5 × 10001 = 38.5 kl
