hiii!!!

here's ur answer...

given the diameter of the conical pit = 3.5m

therefore radius is = 3.5/2

= 1.75m

height (deep) = 12m

let the slant height of the conical pit be c, radius be a and height be b.

==> c² = a² + b²

==> c² = 1.75² + 12²

==> c² = 3.0625 + 144

==> c² = 147.0625

==> c = √147.0625

==> c = 12.12 (approximately)

hence, the slant height of the conical pit is 12.12m (approximately)

volume of the conical pit = 1/3πr²h

= 1/3 × 22/7 × 1.75 × 1.75 × 12

= 808.5/21

= 38.5m³

hope this helps..!!
