volume of conical pit = pi.r^2.h/3
=22/7 x (3.5/2)^2 x (12)/3m^3
=11 x 2 x 7/4= 77/2m^3
we know ,
1 m^3 = 1000 litres
hence capacity of conical pit =77/2 x 1000 litres =38500 litres

Diameter = 3.5 m
Radius , r = 3.5 /2 m
depth of the cone = height of the cone , h = 12 m
Capacity of the conical pit = Volume of the conical pit = 1/3 π r²h
= 1/3 × 22 / 7 × 3.5 / 2 × 3.5/2 × 12
= 38.5 m³
1 m³ = 1000 litres
38.5 m³ = 38.5 × 1000 = 38500 litres
∴ Capacity of the conical pit = 38500 litres
