let r be the radius of conical tent and l be the slant height .

step1 solve for ' r ' ___________________________
given Area of the floor of conical tent

= 154 m^2

since , we know that floor of conical tent is circular ,

so then area of floor = area of circle

154 = π r^2

r^2 = 154 × 7 / 22

r^2 = 49 => r =√49 = 7 m

radius of cone (r ) = 7 m

step 2 Find slant height of conical tent
______________________________
Given height of conical tent (h )= 24 m

slant height (l) = √[ ( r)^2 + ( h )^2 ]

l = √ [ ( 7)^2 + ( 24 )^2 ]

l = √(49 + 576 )

l = √625 = 25 m

step 3 Find CSA of conical tent :
________________________
C.S.A of conical tent = πrl

= 22/ 7 × 7 ×25

= 22 × 25 = 550 m^2

therefore,
the canvas required for the tent
= 550m^2
