A conical tent is made of tarpaulin 1.5m wide. vertical height of the conical tent is 4m and base diameter is 6m. find the length of the tarpaulin used, assuming that 10% extra material is required for stitcng margins and wastage in cutting. (take âìâ= 3.14)

Length of tarpaulin required is 34.54 m
Given dimensions of tent are:
height = 4 m
Diameter = 6 m
radius = 6/2 = 3 m
The area of tarpaulin required would be equal to curved surface area of tent : πrl
l = √(h²)+(r)² = √(4²)+(3)² =√25 = 5 m
The area would be :
π(3)(5) = 15π m²
Adding the extra amount required = 15π + 1.5π = 16.5 π
Entering the value of π= 51.81 m²
Width of tarpaulin is given as 1.5 m
Length of tarpaulin required would be 51.81/1.5 = 34.54 m
