A constant force acts on an object of mass 5 kg for a duration of 2 sec. It increases the object's velocity from 4m/s. to 8m/s. Find the magnitude of force applied.

u = 4 m/s (initial velocity)
v = 8 m/s (final velocity)
a = v-u/t = 8-4/2 = 2 m/s^2 (acceleration)

Force = mass × acceleration (from newton's second law of motion)
= (5 × 2) N = 10 N

(N stands for newton, the S.I. unit of force)
