A constant force of 50 N is applied to object of mass 10 kg, moving initially with a velocity of 10m/sec . how long will it take the object to stop if the force acts on the object in a direction opposite to that of its velocity ?

first we find acceleration..

f=ma

50=10a

a=5

now we know

v=u+at

so,

t =  \frac{v - u}{a}  =  \frac{0 - 10}{5}  = 2sec

answer is 2 seconds
