A constant force of magnitude 20N acts on a body of mass 2kg, initially at rest, for 2 seconds. What will be the velocity of the body after 3 seconds from start?

F = ma

20 = 2×a

a = 10m/s²

v = u+at

v = 0+10×3

v = 30m/s

Hence the velocity of the body after 3s will be 30m/s

Answer:

Explanation:

•Mass = 2kg

•Force = 20N

•Initial Velocity = 0 because the body is at rest for first 2 seconds

• Final Velocity = ?

•Total Time = 2+3 = 5 seconds

As we know that,

•Acceleration=v-u/t

Force = mass × Acceleration

Force = 2kg × v-u/t

Force = 2 × v-0/5

20 = 2 × v/5

20 × 5 = 2 × v

100 = 2 × v

100/2 = v

50 = v

So,

Final Velocity = 50 m/s
