A constant net force of 20 N exerted to accelerate a cart from rest to a velocity of 4m/s in 10 s. what is the mass of the cart?

For this we need to use the equation F=mA.

This means that if we have the force and in the end need to know the mass then we need to find acceleration.

If the carts change in velocity is 4 m/s and it does this in 10 seconds then its acceleration is 4/10 or 0.4 m/s^2.

Then using F=mA 20=0.4m then we divide both sides of the equals sign by 0.4 to cancel it on the right side leaving us with 20/0.4=m.

Therefore m= 50kg.
