Correct Question :-

Construct a triangle PQR such that,

PQ = 5.8cm

QR = 6.5cm

PR = 4.5 cm

Solution :-

 \sf \large \: \: Steps : -

  • First, draw a line segment measuring 5.8 cm.
  • Next, draw an arc from the point P at the upper part of line segment by a compass measuring 5.8 cm.
  • Again, draw an arc from the point R on the arc drawn before by a compass measuring 6.5 cm.
  • Now, we get a point where both arcs meet. Join both P and R to the point where it meets. Name the point as Q.
  • Finally, the triangle is constructed.

 \sf \large \: \: Uses \: of \: Instruments : -

  • Ruler :- It's and important instrument used to draw the lines which ensure that the lines are straight and are also of accurate measurement.
  • Compass :- In the questions, which are given with all three sides of triangle, we use compass. It's used to obtain a point wher both points of line segment can meet to form a triangle.

Given :

Construct a triangle PQR Such that PQ = 5.8cm OR-6.5cm and PR = 4.5 cm.

Solution :-

We've :-

PQ = 5.8cm

OR = 6.5cm

PR = 4.5cm

Drawing :-

Refer in the attachment !

Steps of construction :-

1. Draw PQ of length 5.8 cm with the help of ruler.

2 Now, open the compass 4.5 cm and draw an arc from P point.

3. Again open the compass 6.5 cm and draw an arc from Q point.

4. And now we have got the point where both the arches are meet, so give that point a name of R.

5. Join PR and QR

Therefore, PQR is the required triangle.
