Given : A construction firm is building a skyscraper, and the height of the skyscraper in yards and feet after certain numbers of days is shown in the table

DAYS                    12         200            300    560

Height Yards         9          140            306     510

Height feet           27         420           ?           1530

To Find :  missing value in the table

813

918

975

990

Solution:

Here number of days are irrelevant as there is a direct variation in Yards and feets

feets ∝  yards

=> feets = K yards

27 = k (9)

=> K = 3

Hence feets = 3 yards

Yards         feets

140 x 3   = 420

306 x 3  = 918

510 x 3   = 1530

918 is the missing value in table

DAYS                    12         200            300    560

Height Yards         9          140            306     510

Height feet           27         420           918      1530
