A container of volume 3.2 x 10^-6 is filled with helium gas at a pressure of 5.1 x 10^5 Pa and a temperature of 320 K. Assume that the sample of helium gas behaves as an ideal gas.
1. mass of helium atom is 6.6x10^-27 kg. Estimate the average speed of helium atoms in the container.
2. show that the number of helium atoms in the container is 4x10^20
3. calculate the ratio (vol of helium atoms)/(vol of helium gas)
4. discuss, by reference to the kinetic model of an ideal gas and the answer to 3, whether the assumption that heiulm behaves as an ideal gas is justified
