Answer :

  • The total capacity of container is 80 litres.

Given :

  • A container of water was 3/5th full

  • When 38 liters of water drawn it, it is just 1/8th full.

To find :

  • The total capacity of the container in liters =?

Step-by-step explanation :

So,

  • Fraction of water in the container = 3/5 [given]

Find the fraction of the water that had been drawn:

= 3/5 - 1/8

= 24 - 5/40

= 19/40

Find capacity of the container

= 19/40 = 38 litres

= 38 x 40 /19

= 2 x 40

= 80 litres

Thus, The total capacity of container is 80 litres.

Hence, option (d). 80 litres is the correct ✔️
