Answer:

Rs 27750

Step-by-step explanation:

The contract specifies penalty of Rs 200 the first day .

The next day penalty is Rs 250 .

Image this as an A.P or arithmetic progression .

a = Rs 200 .

d = Rs 50

n = 30 .

Sn = n/2 [ 2 a + ( n - 1 ) d ]

⇒ Sn = 30/2 [ 2 ( 200 ) + ( 30 - 1 ) ( 50 ) ]

⇒ Sn = 15 [ 400 + 29 × 50 ]

⇒ Sn = 15 [ 400 + 1450 ]

⇒ Sn = 15 [ 1850 ]

⇒ Sn = 27750 ,

The money will be Rs 27750 .
