So,

then,

also,
→ 5 person completes work in 8 days = 5 × 8 = 40 units
we can conclude that, total work is equal to 40 units .
Now,
→ 1 person completes work in 1 day = 1 unit
then,
→ 6 person completes work in 1 day = 1 × 6 = 6 units
therefore,
→ Time taken to complete same work = Total work done / Efficiency of 6 person per day = 40/6 = 20/3 = 6(2/3) days (Ans.)
Solution (2) :-
→ M1 = Number of person initially = 5 person
→ D1 = Time taken initially = 8 days
→ M2 = New number of person = 6 person
→ D2 = New number of days = Let x
So,
→ M1 × D1 = M2 × D2
→ 5 × 8 = 6 × x
→ 40 = 6x
→ x = 40/6
→ x = 20/3
→ x = 6(2/3) days (Ans.)
