Answer:-

Given:

A contractor takes a contract to complete a road in 60 days and employed 70 laboursAfter 25 days, he found that one fourth of the total work is completeSolution:Since, in 25 days ¼ part of the work is completed by 70 labours

⇒ In 1 day ¼ part of the work is completed by (70 × 25) labours

⇒ In 35 days ¼ part of the work is completed by (70 × 25)/35 labours

⇒ In 35 days ¾ part of the work is completed by (70 × 25)/35 × 3 labours

⇒ In 35 days ¾ part of the work is completed by (70 × 25)/35 × 3 labours⇒ 150 labours

⇒ The number of extra labours required = 150 - 70

∴ Extra 80 labours requires to complete the remaining work in time.
