The contractor with a workforce of 420 men can complete a work of construction of a building in nine months. due to request by the owners, he was asked to complete the job in seven months. how many extra men he must employ to complete the job?

Let the work that is to be done be x

Total time is taken by 420 men to complete a certain piece of work = 9 months

X = 420 * 9 = 3780

Total no. of men required to complete the same work in 7 months = x / 7

                                                                                                                = 3780 / 7

                                                                                                                = 540

Total number of men he needs to hire = 540 – 420 = 120
