Given that,

Power of a convergent lens is 16 D

To find,

The final image produced by the lens.

Solution,

A convergent lens is used as a simple microscope. Firstly it is required to find the focal length of the lens which is given by:

f=\dfrac{1}{P}

P is power of lens

f=\dfrac{1}{16}\ m\\\\f=\dfrac{100}{16}\ cm\\\\f=6.25\ m

The magnification of lens when the final image is formed at least distance of distinct vision is given by :

m=1+\dfrac{D}{f}

D is least distance of distinct vision, D = 25 cm

m=1+\dfrac{25}{6.25}\\\\m=5

So, the magnification of the lens is 5.
