A converging mirror, forms a three times magnified virtual image when an object is
placed at a distance of 8 cm from it. Calculate :(i) the position of the image.
(i)the focal lengh of the mirror.

So, the image is formed behind the mirror at the distance of 24 cm...

(ii) 1/f = 1/v + 1/u

=> 1/f = 1/24 + 1/(-8)

=> 1/f = 1-3/24

=> 1/f = -2/24

=> f = -24/2

=> f = -12...

So, the focal length of mirror is -12...
