A conversation between me and the mirror (me as a women)

We look in the mirror many times a day. The reasons may be many but when does that really touch us?
We stand in front of the mirror to comb our hair, do up the face and generally ensure that we look okay. Some people do this more often than others just to be sure they really look good. Does the mirror ever reflect more than that on the surface? I would say yes!
I do stand in front of the mirror, for all the reasons mentioned and more. When I see my reflection I see more than my surface self. I can look at the mirror and look myself in the eye too, only when my conscience is clear. I could never see myself in the eye if I feel I had done some mischief or done something bad or said or done things not entirely ethical.
I have made a point of looking at myself in the mirror daily once to take stock of my life. It has helped too. When you know the real you, who really matters, in relation to other things in life, you know what you want and also how do deal with things properly as you have to live with yourself. There are always outside factors involved that do have an impact on our life but this way we could at least be sure we do the best we could, have done too, and learn to accept things as they turn out, in a proper perspective.
So, when I look at the mirror daily, I do see the smart me and the real me who can look back at me without blinking, if the day went without any mischief!
Today I was standing in front of the mirror and looking at myself when the mirror started talking to me. Our conversation was as follows :
Mirror - "Hi, Radhika."
Me - "Hi, I am looking beautiful isn't it ?"
Mirror - "Yes, you look gorgeous."
Me - "Thanks for the complement."
Mirror - "There is something special in your look today, what's the matter. Won't you share it with me ?"
Me - "You are right. I am very happy today because it is my birthday and all my friends are coming home for the party."
Mirror - "No wonder your eyes are sparkling with joy."
Me - "What message would you like to give me for my birthday."
Mirror - "Face is the index of the mind. So if you want to be beautiful forever, nurture beautiful thoughts of love, kindness and joy."
Me - "Thank you for the lovely birthday message. I must go now. My friends have started coming. Bye."
