According to the question:

Focal length, f=15 cm (Positive since covering or convex lens)

Then, Radius of curvature, R=2f=30 cm

Image distance, v=30 cm

Since the image distance is 30 cm and the Radius of curvature of the lens is also 30 cm.

∴ The object must be placed at the radius of curvature (30 cm) away from the lens because when the object is kept at the radius of curvature its image is also formed at the radius of curvature on other side of the lens.

Thus, object distance, u=−30 cm. Negative because the object is kept on the opposite side of the image.
