The object must be between the focal length  and the centre of curvature.

Explanation:

As focal length id 12 cm. So, centre of curvature,

length of centre of curvature = 2 x focal length

So, length of centre of curvature = 24 cm

So, the object is kept between the 12 cm from 24 cm from the centre of length.

The image formed is real, inverted and magnified. Real images can be taken on screens.
