A convex lens is used to form real image of an object on a screen. It is observed that even when the positions of the object and that of screen are fixed, there are two positions of the lens to form real images. If the heights of the images are 4cm and 9cm respectively, find the height of the object.

height of object is equal to the height of image because m = hi\ho (height of image =hi)
(height of object = Ho)

= 4\ho and 9\ho
= ho =4 and ho = 9

Apoorvyt: How can the height of the same object be 4cm AND 9cm?!
whoareyou41: because hi \ho =0 so 4\ho =0 then ho =4 (by placing 4 in side of 0)
akashadhyapak: It is not given that magnification is 1
Apoorvyt: Yup magnification is not 1
