Answer:

the longitudinal chromatic aberration of lens is 0.10 cm

Explanation:

As we know by lens makers formula focal length of the lens is given as

\frac{1}{f} = (\mu - 1)(\frac{1}{R_1} - \frac{1}{R_2})

so here we have for red color light

\frac{1}{f} = (1.515 - 1)(\frac{1}{5} + \frac{1}{10})

f_r = 6.47 cm

Now for violet color light we have

\frac{1}{f_v} = (1.523 - 1)(\frac{1}{5} + \frac{1}{10})

f_v = 6.37 cm

now the chromatic aberration due to lens is given as

d = f_r - f_v

d = 6.47 - 6.37

d = 0.10 cm
