Given: focal length of concave lens = 25cm

           focal length of convex lens = 7cm

To find: distance between the concave and convex lens.

Solution:

Let the focal length of the concave lens be f₁,

the focal length of the convex lens is f₂.

Since the parallel beam is incident on the convex lens, so we can interpret the formula.

From the above equation, f₂ = x+ f₁

                                          x = f₂ - f₁

                                            = 25 - 7 = 18cm

Therefore, the value of x will be 18cm
