Focal length of convex mirror = +f....(1)

object distance 'u' = -f/2.......(2)

image distance = ?

by mirror formula we have

1/f=1/u+1/v

1/v=1/f-1/u

1/v=1/f-1/(-f/2)........{from (1)&(2) }

1/v=1/f+2/f ( minus of minus = plus)

1/v=1+2/f

v=+f/3.......(3) (Reciprocal)

magnification=h(i)/h(o)=-v/u

m=-(f/3)/-(f/2)

m=(1/3)/(1/2)

m=+2/3 the positive sign indicates virtual image and the image is erect

Hope u understood the problem clearly
