-v/u = 1/2
-2v = u
f = 18
1/v + 1/u = 1/f
1/v + 1/(-2v) = 1/18
-2/(-2v) + 1/(-2v) = 1/18
-1/-2v = 1/18
1/2v = 1/18 v = 9 u = -2(v) u = -2(9) u = -18cm So the object must be placed at -18cm

pratham132: no it has to be 18cm
Ayushpratapsingh2210: How can we edit in chrome
Ayushpratapsingh2210: It would be -18
Ayushpratapsingh2210: I made a mistake while addition

magnification m= -v/u=1/2
u=(-2v)
1/f=1/v - 1/2v
1/18= 1/2v
v=9 cm
u= -2*9= -18 cm
