chidiya92: object distance is negative for both concave and convex mirror.
shahh: yes if it is negative then why dont u use 1/-u in the formula
shahh: i mean u have written 1/u -4/u=1/30
shahh: so u should write 1/-u - 4/u=1/30
chidiya92: we don't use 1/-u in the formula because 'u' is not negative but the value of u is negative
chidiya92: Have u seen the cartesian plane. The y axis divides the x axis in two parts positive and negative......so just replace the y axis with mirror. And we put yhe object in the negative side. So the value of 'u' will negative rather than 'u' itself...
