A convex mirror used as a rear view mirror for a bus,has a focal length of 200cm.If a scooter is located at 100cm.from this mirror ,find the position,nature and magnification of the image formed in the mirror.​

Answer:

v=66.67cm , m=0.67 and the image will be virtual, erect and small in size with respect to the object.

Given in, f=200cm, u=-100cm so, we can use mirror formula 1/f=1/v+1/u. We get v=66.67 cm , because v is +ve ,we can say image will be virtual and a convex mirror always gives a erect and small image .Now we can find magnification by m=-v/u that gives m=0.67
