Answer:

focal lenght        f   =200cm

object distance u    = -100cm

image distance   v = ?

by mirror formula 1/f =1/v+1/u

              1/200 = -1/100+1/v

       1/200+1/100=1/v

           3/200    = 1/v

                      v = 200/3 = 66.6cm

the image is formed 66.6cm from the mirror.

we can see v is a positive value,which represents image is virtual and erect.

magnification of the image = -(v/u)

                                           =  -(66.6/ -100

                                           = 0.66

as magnification is less than 1 image will be diminished.

properties of image are

  • virtual
  • erect
  • diminished
