A convex mirror used on a bus has a focal length of 200 cm. If a scooter is located at 400 cm from this mirror, find the position, nature and magnication of the image formed in the mirror.

Given:
f=200cm
u=400cm
v=?
We know

1/f=1/u+1/v

1/200=1/-400+1/v

1/v= 1/200 - 1/-400

1/v=1/200+1/400

1/v=3/400

v=400/3 = 133.3cm


value is positive means

image formed
---------------------is 133.3 cm behind the mirror.

---------------------is Virtual

Magnification of the image is 0.33 .
m= -v/u
= -133.3/-400
=0.33

So
