Answer:

Position = 2.14units from the mirror

Nature = Real inverted

Magnification = -0.08

Explanation:

u = -5units

R = 3units

We know that,

f = 1/2R

===> f = 3/2 = -1.5units

According to mirror formula,

 \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{1}{f}

Therefore,

 \frac{1}{v}  =  \frac{1}{f}  -  \frac{1}{u}  \\  \frac{1}{v}  =  \frac{1}{-1.5}  -  \frac{1}{-5}  \\

 \\ =  \frac{-5 + 1.5}{7.5}  \\    = \frac{-3.5}{7.5}

\frac{1}{v} = \frac{-3.5}{7.5} \\ v = \frac{-7.5}{3.5} = -2.14

m = -v/u

= -(-2.14)/-5

= -0.42

-------------

For convex mirrors,

f = (-ve)

u = (-ve)

v = (-ve)

-------------

Hope it helps.....!
