copper consisting the bowl is a highly reactive metal , it reacts with oxygen and forms Copper oxide which forms a thick

layer around it's surface (which protects the bowl from rusting) .moreover , the

layer of copper oxide formed is dull and non lustrous in colour therefore a copper bowl loses it's lustre after some time .
