Explanation:

Couple means two equal and opposite forces at two different points . The force couple are always equal in magnitude and act in the opposite directions at different points on a body. As a resultant there is no net force acted upon the body. Since the net force is zero therefore there is no translational motion  present and only the torque acts. But,since the particles act at different points on the body, they produce only a rotational motion.

Thus the resultant motion will be a purely rotational motion
