A couple is expecting their first child. What are the chances that the child born would be
a boy or a girl? Explain.​

Chances would be 50% for both i.e. for boy child as well as for girl child
Because sex chromosomes in male is XY and in female it is XX . Male gametes contain X &Y chromosomes whereas female gametes contain X chromosomes
During fertilisation of gametes having X &Y chromosomes it produces male child and fertilisation of gametes having X & X chromosomes produces female child.
