Given:-
- A courtyard is 20 m long and 15 m broad
- It is to be paved with bricks of length 25 cm and breadth 12 cm
To Find:-
The no of bricks required?
Solution:-
Courtyard
Length of the courtyard⠀= 20m = (20 × 100cm) = 2000 cm
Breadth of the courtyard = 15m = (15 × 100) = 1500 cm
Area of the courtyard⠀⠀= Length × breadth
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= (2000 × 1500) cm²
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= 300000 cm²
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bricks
Length of the bricks = 25 cm
Breadth of the bricks = 12 cm
Area of the bricks⠀⠀ = length × breadth
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= (25 × 12) cm²
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= 300 cm²
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
