Nitrogen is one of the elements present in the periodic table that can form covalent triple bonds.
This is possible because only Group 15 elements having valence electrons 5 are required to need 3 electrons for octet structure.
So they share 3 electrons to form triple bond with all the 3 pair of electrons.
So it forms a covalent triple bond as only sharing of electron takes place.
