Answer: 9 patches

Step-by-step explanation: First we need to find area of the carpet

Given- length is 15m

Breadth is 900cm = 9m

Area of rectangle is l x b

=15 x 9

=135m

Therefore the area of the carpet is 135m

Now we will find the area of patches

Length is 5m

Breadth is 3m

Area of rectangle is l x b

= 5 x 3

= 15m

We have the area of patches = 15m

Area of carpet = 135m

No. Of patches will fit

= area of carpet/ area of patch

= 135 / 15

= 9

Therefore 9 patches will fit.

Answer:9 small carpets

Step-by-step explanation:

Length (carpet that is to be made): 15m

Breadth (carpet that is to be made): 900cm = 9m

Length (of the small carpet): 5m

Breadth (of the small carpet): 3m

Area(carpet that is to be made): Length x Breadth

=15m x 9m

=135m

Area(Of the small carpet): Length x Breadth

=5m x 3m

=15m

∴No. Of small carpets needed to make one big carpet of area 135m= 135m/15m

= 9 small carpets
