In order to raise the car, the crane has to do work against the force of gravity.

Therefore,

  • The Force required to lift the car F = mg.

500 ༝ 9.8

4900 N

Now,

Displacement S = Vertical height moved = 4m.

We Know,

  • W = FS

4900 ༝ 4

19600 J.

Therefore,

  • Hence, the work done by the crane is 19600 J.

Know More :

  • f is force, m is mass , g is gravity, s is displacement, w is work done.

  • Gravity is always 9.8m/s² and 10m/s².
