a cricket ball is dropped from a height of 20 m. a) calculate the speed of the ball when it hits the ground.
b) calculate the time it takes to fall through this height.
(g=10m per second square)

Since the ball is dropped from some height , its initial velocity u is 0

Applying second equation of motion ,

S =ut + 1/2gt^2

20=0 +1/2×10×t^2

So t comes out to be 2 seconds
