 \bf\huge\underline{\underline{ Given :- }}

  • mass of cricket ball = 0.2 kg

  • initial velocity = 20 m/s

  • final velocity = 0 m/s

  • time = 0.1 s

 \bf\huge\underline{\underline{ To \: Find:- }}

  • impulse provided to the ball

 \bf\huge\underline{\underline{ Answer :- }}

According to Newtons second law ,

Impulse = Change in Momentum

  • momentum = mass × velocity

  • mass = 0.2 kg

  • initial velocity = 20 m/s

  • final velocity = 0 m/s

  • time = 0.1 s

 \rule{10cm}{0.05cm}

  • initial momentum = 0.2 × 20 = 4 kgm/s

  • final momentum = 0 × 20 = 0

  • change in momentum = final - initial

  • change in momentum = 4 - 0

  • change in momentum = 4 kgm/s

 \rule{10cm}{0.05cm}

  • Change in momentum = 4kgm/s

  • change in momentum = impulse

  • Impulse = 4 Ns
