A cricket ball of mass 0.2Kg moves with a velocity of 20m/s and is bought to rest by a Player in 0.1 sec . Calculate average force applied by a Player .

Force = Mass × Acceleration!
= 0.2 × (20-0)/0.1
= 40 N

a = v - u /t = 0 - 20 / 0.1 =  - 200 m/s²  

F = ma =   0.2 x -200 = -40 N
Minus sign indicates that force is applied in the opposite direction of motion to that of the ball.
∴ The force applied by player is 40N
