Explanation:

Mass of the ball = 100g = 0.1 kg

Speed of the ball = 30 m/s

Momentum of the ball = mv

                                     = (30 x 0.1) N.s

                                     =  3 N.s

Time taken to bring to rest = 0.03 sec

Force applied by the player = (3 / 0.03) N

                                               = 100 N

Initial momentum = 3 N.s

Final momentum = 0 N.s

Change in momentum = (3-0) N.s

                                      = 3 N.s
