A cricket ball of mass 180g moving with velocity of 25m/s is stopped by a player in 0.6 sec. Calculate the force applied by him/her to stop it

Given ,

Mass of the ball is 180 g = 180/1000 kg = 18/100 kg

Force = mass × acceleration

= 18 / 100 × ( v - u )/t

= 9/50 × ( 0 - 25 ) / 0.6

= 9/50 × -25/0.6

= 9/2 × -1×10/6

= 9×-5/6

= 3 × -5/2

= -15/2

= -7.5 N
