mass of cricket ball , m = 200g = 0.2 kg
initial velocity of cricket ball, u = 15m/s
cricket ball is brought to rest by a player in 0.5 sec. means final velocity of cricket ball , v = 0

now use formula, v = u + at
0 = 15 + a × 0.5
a = -30 m/s² [ here negative sign shows that player ball is decelerated by player ]

so, the force exerted by player = mass of ball × acceleration of ball
= 0.2 × 30 = 6N

hence, force exerted by player is 6N
